Nutrition and Good Eating

Nutrition looks at the relationship between what you eat and your health. It examines the elements that constitute foods and looks at how the quantity and quality of these elements impact on a person health both positively (good health) and negatively (disease.) It attempts to give recommendations on the optimal dietary pattern for good health.

Good Food Choices
Unfortunately, it is very easy to be drawn to the foods that we like, rather than foods that we should be eating. The fast and easy option often wins out over taking the time and care necessary for good food choice and preparation. By taking the easy approach we often eat things that we know are not good for us.

Nutrition and eating pattern is all about choice. It is important to be aware of the choices that you are making and how they relate to your overall health. I have two recommended nutritional plans. They are Dr. John Berardi’s Precision Nutrition and Mike Roussell’s Naked Nutrition. The dietary guidelines for both programs are very similar and both focus on developing a healthy eating pattern not a short term diet. Areas covered include fat loss, muscle gain and exercise nutrition.
