Types of Exercise
 

There are a number of types of exercise that are important for overall health and wellbeing. Most exercise specialists consider the following the most important.

Cardiovascular Exercise

This focuses on increasing your heart rate for a given amount of time.  As a result, it will allow for more energy to be used from your system.  The longer your heart rate is increased, the more energy will be used.  This will burn calories that are availabe in your body including burning fat.  Cardiovascular exercises include running, swimming, cycling and aerobics.  These are good to use at any time, whether you are wanting to lose bodyfat or improve your fitness. 

Resistance Exercise 

Most use weight lifting as a source of resistance training; however, there are several other methods that can be used.  Resistance training doesn’t even necessarily need equipment, as you can use the weight of your own body. Resistance training strengthens the muscles, increases bone density and also burns calories.

Flexibility Training

Stretching your muscles improves your range of movement and can make movement easier.
